A head slam anecdote

1. I had some head trauma on Day 146 of an extended 90-day trial of plasmalogen precursor supplements. It happened when ordering dinner for delivery to three people while visiting them a half-dozen states away.

Order status notification was Delivered, but when I went downstairs, I couldn’t find it on either the front or back porches. In the middle of wandering around an unfamiliar house during twilight, I tripped, and head-butted a wall.

2. I’m a little concerned about a 4 cm x 3 cm scalp scrape. Maybe the scar will become a tattoo?

I’m more concerned about the skull / brain impact and cervical disk compression I felt. There have been subsequent symptoms like not understanding simple things my hosts said, and other glitches in me perceiving reality.

Getting medical professionals involved in possible injury treatment won’t happen, though. I lost trust in them because of their actions this decade.

3. Taking daily plasmalogen precursor supplements may have cushioned effects of this head slam. Two days afterwards, though, I ran out of ProdromeGlia, which has been out-of-stock for over a month. Other Prodrome non-proprietary products I don’t use are also out-of-stock. Not a desirable business metric.

There are a hundred ways a small business can screw up customer relationships. It may help for management to emphasize a customer’s value when assessing inventory. Here’s one way to calculate a customer’s monetary value:

value of a customer

  1. I’m so sorry to hear about the head injury, but hope that that plasmalogens are, in fact, helping.

The inventory issues have been crazy. We’ve been buying for almost 3 years and it’s just in the past 3-4 months that items have been out of stock. I’m guessing that means the demand is outpacing supply, so hopefully they’re working on bridging that gaps. I’m hoping the boost in manufacturing might also reduce the cost.

    • Thanks Erin! Taking 8 gelcaps daily of each the past four months made me feel better prepared for an emergency.
Last webinar Dr. Goodenowe said something about supply chain issues. Maybe he’ll address it again with details next week? No business can take their customers for granted.

      • I’m so glad to hear that. And you’re absolutely right–the supply chain issues are not a great look, so hopefully they’ll sort things out very soon.

        • And thank you, Erin, for your introduction to the topic.
I’d read a lot about losing cognitive function, but researchers aren’t focused on prevention the way Dr. Goodenowe is. As he said in one interview:
“Amyloid has absolutely nothing to do with Alzheimer’s, or dementia. It’s just a bystander on the road watching an accident happen.”

          • You’re so very welcome! It’s been life-changing for me, sincerely, so I try to pass along what I’ve learned to anyone who will listen. I’ve been so impressed with Dr. Goodenowe’s work, and it continually surprises me that what he’s doing it’s talked about more… it’s really amazing stuff.

            • Really don’t agree with Prodrome doing business this way, taking their customers for granted, leaving them in the lurch for months. It would be even more expensive to use oil vs. softgels, and it seems from the outside to be due to poor planning.

This month’s exchanges with customer service:

When are the ProdromeGlia softgels 180 count coming back? They’ve been out-of-stock for over a month now.
              Thanks,

              Good morning-

We will not have the ProdromeGlia soft gels available until May, but this is subject to change.

Our manufacturing department moved buildings and it severely halted production.

We understand that this is a great inconvenience, and I am sincerely sorry.

We’re working as diligently as we can with our current resources.

We currently have our Glia oil in stock, which is the same supplement.

Went to order Neuro a minute ago, and it’s also out of stock. When will ProdromeNeuro softgels 180 be available?
              Thanks,

              Good afternoon-

We’re hoping to have our Neuro soft gels available sometime in August.

We understand that this is a great inconvenience, and I am sincerely sorry.

We’re working as diligently as we can with our current resources.

We do have our ProdromeNeuro oil available, which is the same supplement.

The only difference is that it is not encapsulated in the soft gel.

1mL of Neuro oil is the equivalent of 2 soft gels.

You can also go to our website http://www.prodrome.com and select the Neuro soft gels and then you’re able to select “Notify Me” you will receive an email once we have the soft gels back in stock.

We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

              Kind regards,

              Customer Service

              • I understand. I’m also frustrated with the products being out of stock and the lackluster customer service. I didn’t realize they won’t be back in stock until May and August. Jeez! That does seem like poor planning. I’m sure demand is high is people are experiencing positive results, but that’s borderline irresponsible… there are a lot of folks, I’m sure, dependent on plasmalogens to get relief from symptoms. Such a bummer.
